The Brain Plasticity of Triggers, Hot Buttons, and Outbursts  - Dr. Patrick Handley

Emotion overrules thinking. Emotionally embedded neural connections and chemical reactions in the body speed through us and fire more quickly than rational thinking patterns. As talent development professionals, we spend much our careers helping people override instinctive reactions. This session explores why good training is so often displaced by stronger emotionally embedded triggers and hot buttons. Applying the science of brain plasticity can better assure our success and help make training stick.
