K-State Olathe is seeking applications from individuals looking to join the growing Professional Development team as a Professional Development Specialist. The position provides support for K-State Olathe’s programming related to professional development, non-credit offerings, engagement events, conference planning and administration. Reporting to the Professional Development Manager, this position supports K-State Olathe’s goal to provide professional development and non-credit programs to meet the workforce needs in Greater Kansas City, link K- State’s expertise to appropriate regional, national and international audiences, and support and expand conference services needed by K-State. The Specialist is responsible for supporting already existing programming on campus and executing event and conference management in partnership with campus partners. Responsibilities include annual planning and setting program goals; managing budgets and evaluating revenue and expenses; and promoting conference services. The position requires collaboration and coordination with other staff, faculty, and units at all three K-State campuses, and with external subject matter experts and partners.
