January Chapter Meeting

Since the first drawings scrolled on cave walls, humans have been using stories to train and educate their peers. In fact, stories are the longest-running training methodology known to mankind. In today’s fast-paced, highly interactive world, stories remain an engaging, connective tool — helping bridge the gap between learning objectives and real-world application. In this session, you’ll learn how to find organizational stories to match your learning objectives and how to effectively leverage these stories for in-person and online training.

Learning Objectives:

- Discover how to find and craft stories to meet your learning objectives.

- Learn the elements of a successful story, including strategies for creating engagement.

- Return to work knowing how to incorporate stories into both in-person and online training.

Speaker Bio

Betsy Lee is a mother of four and a world traveler. When she's not trying to get her children to eat strange foods in strange countries, she's building engaging online training for entities like UNICEF, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Grace Hill Inc., and Cancer Survivorship Training, LLC. Betsy believes that stories, games, and spaced repetition are the path to retention. A former journalist and Association of Health Care Journalists fellow, Betsy now uses her "nose for news" and excellent research skills to reach people in a different way. It's her passion to educate and engage, creating better organizations, more successful businesses, and stronger people.
