Changing a Company’s Culture, One Year at a Time: Lockton Companies’ Move to Strategic Risk Consulting

Just like many industries being disrupted by technological advancements, local insurance broker Lockton Companies has been challenged with a changing business environment. Due to the Great Recession of 2008, Lockton’s clients don’t need a broker to suggest coverages and make recommendations anymore. All that can be done using technology. Now, clients need a business partner that identifies opportunities within the balance sheet for savings using the leverage of insurance costs. To reposition the relationship to one of consultant, the Associate Development team at Lockton, led by Jim Facinelli, built on an existing training program, increasing the variety of learning modalities, involving higher-level leadership accountabilities, and pushing the mindset down into the organization by introducing concepts and skills sooner in the Lockton Associate’s learning lifecycle. Join us to hear from Jim about…

  • A organizational change model and how that looked at Lockton Companies
  • The clues that surfaced indicating success or gaps in behavior change
  • How the team determined the best solutions to address the gaps
  • Current state of the culture change across the organization and potential next steps
