Why are the Jellyfish Taking Over?

Join us in February as Jane Walton discusses how to create healthy workplace environments.

In nature, when the balance of an ecosystem is disrupted, some species begin to take over to the detriment of others. This happens in business too. When collaboration and connectivity are replaced with dysfunction and disengagement, people can become jellyfish, floating along, unable or unwilling to change course. Why Are the Jellyfish Taking Over? builds on the idea of the workplace as an ecosystem that requires balance and constant change as keys to success. The parallels between natural ecosystems and work environments create an engaging, thought-provoking way for your leaders to learn about employee engagement, change management and organization design. Jane will lead us in a discussion of the following key principles:

  • How to create healthy workplace environments where leaders and employees are engaged, fulfilled, and contributing to change efforts.
  • Dynamics that contribute to the rise (and fall) of companies.
  • What employees need from leaders to succeed.
  • In times of overwhelming technological changes - creating a solid, healthy workplace ecosystem will be key to your staff accepting and adapting to those changes.

During the session we will review the four areas needed for group balance and success - Direction, Information, Support, Chance to be Heard. Breakout groups will each tackle one of these areas and create a plan of action.
