Kathy is a talent development professional with over 20 years providing operational and leadership development, equipping employees with the knowledge, tools, and motivation needed to attain personal and professional growth. She enjoys helping people realize that they can make a difference and equipping them to be successful.
She has been a member of ATD, both nationally and with the local KC chapter, since 2019. She has volunteered as a virtual meeting producer and a marketing assistant, and now serves as the VP of Marketing and Communications. Her love of writing makes this a perfect position as she can share the opportunities and benefits of the talent development community with a wide audience.
Kathy is the Learning & Development Specialist at Owner Operator Independent Drivers Association, (Grain Valley, MO), a company that provides advocacy support in Washington DC for the truck driver community.
When away from work, she enjoys quiet time spent reading and writing; her most peaceful times are enjoying the sounds from rain and thunder.
Tara Stratton, CPTD® is a social learning strategist and community experience designer, who consults with leaders on their talent development initiatives, using her diverse background as an entrepreneur, doula, and creative before entering into the learning experience design field.
When Tara is not consulting with organizations about how marketing and learning intersect, she is probably transporting her husband or children around the region to play gigs, reading about the history of Kansas, or trying to get rid of her lawn with permaculture practices. Tara's passion project is exploring creative learning technologies to enhance public history education in disruptive ways.
Cindy Pollock, Director of Digital Resources
Cindy Pollock has been in the talent development and instructional design game for over 23 years. She does it because she loves seeing people learn. When they have an “a-ha” because of something she wrote, she knows why she does what she does.
Cindy earned her B.S. in Journalism from Oklahoma State University (Go Pokes). Her career in instructional design started when her first boss said, “Hey, someone should write this down.” Her experience includes facilitation, talent development, curriculum design, knowledge management design, and trying to get people to make podcasts a true learning vehicle.
When she isn’t working, she likes to watch her talented husband and daughter do all things musical theatre.
This is Cindy's third year on the board. She has been an ATD member for years, and she is always excited to work with so many wonderful people. It allows her to “geek-out” over learning constantly!
