Casey Finnell has been in the talent, learning, and development spaces for her entire career, though she just learned that is what it was called after joining ATD. If you work in higher education and/or support college student-athletes as an academic advisor, student-athlete development professional, or athletics coach, you are in the talent, learning and development space just like Casey was!
From curriculum design for workshops and retreats to consulting and coaching, to facilitating transformational experiences, and a whole lot of fun in between (like what do you need to consider when setting up a dunk tank), Casey is bringing a diverse background and experience from her career in athletics to a new adventure beginning in 2026 as a training specialist at CommonSpirit Health, an organization built on human kindness.
As a has-been athlete herself, Casey enjoys the opportunity to make most things competitive than they need to be, riding horses, trying to learn all the things (shout out Armchair Expert and Planet Money podcasts) and generally trying to stay as active and outside as much possible when it’s not too cold out.
John is a Learning & Development Specialist for Country Club Bank. He is also the owner of Vital Training Solutions, a company that specializes in CPR training. He has been a learning and development professional for 10 years. He has been a member of ATD, off and on, for about 5 years.

In his spare time, John enjoys golfing, fishing and spending time with his wife and three children.
