Amy Swaminathan, CPLP ® , is an Organizational Development Specialist at Terracon, an engineering consulting company headquartered in Olathe, KS. In her 20 years as a learning professional, she’s worked at Sprint, H&R Block, Payless and Terracon to connect learning to performance improvement in roles as a facilitator, instructional designer, training program manager and organizational development consultant. She’s a DDI certified leadership facilitator and an ATD Kansas City Excellence in Practice (EiP) award winner, recognized in the category of Organizational Learning & Performance for her contribution at Sprint Connect. She’s passionate about the topic of ongoing development and building career resiliency having been impacted by company reorgs, layoffs, buyouts, transformations, resignations and bankruptcy.
Her career path has brought her no regrets, only learning. She loves to encourage others to build career resiliency by continuing to learn and develop to stay relevant as a talent development practitioner. She looks forward to sharing the value that ATD and ATDKC membership provides in networking and development. After serving on the ATD Kansas City Board of Directors in the VP of Membership role for three years, Amy is currently in the President-Elect role, taking on the President role in 2020.
Her husband and son are her biggest motivators and push her out of her comfort zone. She loves spending time with family and friends, music, writing, wine and a great Ted Talk.
