    ·         Being the Best – Lessons from America’s Best Places to Work – David Weisser, Quantum Workplace. What do awesome workplaces do differently than average workplaces?  What are mindsets and practices common to the Best Places to Work? What can you do to help engage your organization more effectively!  This, and more in this action packed session!

    ·         Ferguson, Missouri:  A View From Two HR Practitioners – Angela Schaefer, SHRM-SCP, SPHR, VP of HR & Employee Engagement, Safety National and Julie Logan, SPHR, SHRM-SCP Associated Director of HR, Husch Blackwell.  Ferguson, Missouri is still in the national news, almost daily. From riots, protests, violence, and shootings - how is this impacting employers in the St. Louis area?  How is impacting talent acquisition?  How is it personally impacting employees?  How is it impacting community safety? Angela Schaefer, Past President of HRMA of Greater St. Louis and Julie Logan, Associate Director of HR for Husch Blackwell, will share their practitioner's view of how this incident has impacted the practice of human resources in St. Louis.

    ·         Tactical Confrontation and De-Escalation – Gary Sheely, 1EightyConsulting.  Want to become confident and skilled when initiating constructive confrontation and de-escalating angry people? In this session, you'll learn the role the human self-concept plays in generating defensiveness during confrontation; how to identify and avoid the most common mistakes that subvert a constructive confrontation; and understand the role of, and be able to apply empathy and paraphrase in the de-escalation of anger!  A session that will benefit everyone!

    The ATD Kansas City Chapter bylaws were amended and approved by a majority of Chapter members in good standing attending our special meeting on March 5, 2015. The updated bylaws are now available About Us / Chapter Administration.
