Dawn Rattan is a mom, business owner, and active member of her community. She believes that education changes lives and understands the connection between lifelong learning and success. Dawn is well-known as an advocate for education in the Kansas City area through her civic engagement.
Please join us as we welcome Dawn Rattan to share her leadership story. Dawn will discuss the important links between meeting the needs of students today and businesses of the future.
Dawn was born and raised in Kansas City, Kansas and graduated from Sumner Academy of Arts & Sciences. She received a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Florida A&M University. In college, she interned at Pfizer, Cargill and Allied Signal. After graduating from college she married Manu Rattan, her husband of almost 24 years, and began her 11 year career with Procter & Gamble. She enjoyed roles in Operations and Human Resources in both Cincinnati and Kansas City. After leaving P&G, she was a stay at home mom to her 3 children, Maya, Rishi, and Nikhil. During this time she began to work in the family business as the Human Resources and Marketing Manager. In 2015 she was able to pursue her mission to create a community of fun fitness minded people when she opened EverFit in Shawnee.
She enjoys traveling and fitness. Dawn and her husband regularly support nonprofit causes like Braden's Hope, sacred and Sunflower House. She believes in giving back to the community.
